Translation of the seventh-ten stanzas of Moqsurat ibn Dureid(مقصورة ابن دريد)

بَذاكَ أَم بِالخَيـلِ تَعـدو المَرطـى ناشِـزَةً أَكتادهـا قُــبَّ الكُـلـى

I swear with that or with the horses that gaits a hurry canter, revealing its withers before the stomach.

Mó búrà pẹlú ìyẹn tàbí pẹ̀lú ẹ̀ṣín tí màá ń sáré ní yáráyárá , tí ẹ̀yín ọ́rùn rẹ̀ ási má hàn ṣàjú ìnú rẹ̀.

شُعثاً تَعـادى كَسَراحيـنِ الغَضـا مَيـلَ الحَماليـقِ يُباريـنَ الشَبـا

Its hairs was disheveled, and raced like the wolves of the woods, turning its eyes and compete with the arrowheads.

Óní ìrún kùrúkùrú ní, tí màá ń sáré bí àwọn ìkókó igbó, tí yíò sì mọ́ yí ojú lọ́ bọ̀ lẹ̀ní tí nṣé ìdíje pẹlú orí ọ́fà.

يَحمِلـنَ كُـلّ شـمَّـرِيٍّ بـاسِـلٍ شَهمِ الجَنانِ خائِضٍ غَمرَ الوَغـى

Translation of the sixth-ten stanzas of Maqsurat ibn Dureid (مقصورة ابن دريد)

Arabic - بَرٍّ بَرى طـولُ الطَـوى جُثمانَـهُ فَهوَ كَقَـدحِ النَبـعِ مَحنِـيُّ القَـرا

English - They do carry every good person that was skinned by a long starvation, and He appeared as a darting arrow bent at the back.

Yoruba - Tí wọ́n gbé pọ̀n gbógbó èyánré, tí ebí àpájù tí gbẹ́ árá wọ́n, tí wọ́n wá dà gẹgẹ bí ọ́rùn ọ́fà tí ó tẹ̀ lẹyìn.

Arabic - يَنوي الَّتـي فَضَّلَهـا ربُّ العُلـى لَمّـا دَحـا تُربَتَهـا عَلـى البُنـى.

English - He intended to visit what was graced by the Lord of the Highness when He(Almighty) had layed its soil on the structure.

Yoruba - Óngbèró áayè tí Ọ́bá gígá gbé ọ́lá fún, nìgbà tí ó tí tẹ̀ ìyẹ́pẹ̀ rẹ̀ lórí mímọ́ ilé náà.

Arabic - حَتّـى إِذا قابَلَـهـا اِستَعـبَـرَ لا يَمل�

Translation of the fifth-ten stanzas of Maqsurat ibn Dureid (مقصورة ابن دريد)

عربية - فَاِستَنزَلَ الزَبّاءَ قَسراً وَهـيَ مِـن عُقابِ لَوحِ الجَـوِّ أَعلـى مُنتَمـى

English - So he forcibly took down Zabbah, while she was among the eagles of the exosphere.

Yoruba - Ówà sọ̀ Zàbbáh kálẹ̀ ní típá, lẹ̀yin tí Zàbbáh tí wà pẹlú àwọn ẹ̀yẹ́ àṣá láàyè tó gá jùlọ nínú áfẹ̀fẹ̀.

عربية - وَسَيـفٌ اِستَعلَـت بِــهِ هِمَّـتُـه حَتّى رَمى أَبعَـدَ شَـأوِ المُرتَمـى

English - And Seif, his tireless devotion rose with him, till he aimed at the farthest target.

Yoruba - Àtí Seifu tí àgbíyèlè rẹ gá pẹ̀lú rẹ, tí ófì gbèrò ǹkán tó jìnnà réré.

عربية - فَجَـرَّعَ الأُحبوشَ سُمّاً ناقِعاًوَاحتَلَّ مِن غمدانَ مِحرابَ الدُمى

Translation of the fourth-ten stanzas of Maqsurat ibn Dureid(مقصورة ابن دريد)

وَإِن تَكُـن مُدَّتُـهـا مَوصـولَـةًبِالحَتفِ سَلَّطتُ الأُسا عَلى الأَسـى

And if its duration is linked to death, then I have dedicated the condolence of my death to end this suffering.

Tí àwọn àsìkò ìṣòro yìí bálọ́ já sìkú, tóò mó tí fì íkẹ̀dùn ìkú mì tẹlé ìbànújẹ.

إِنَّ اِمرأَ القَيسِ جَرى إِلـى مَـدى فَاِعتاقَـهُ حِمـامُـهُ دونَ الـمَـدى

Certainly Imr-l-Qais ran to accomplish his mission, but his death hindered him from accomplishing it.

Dájúdájú Imr-l-Qais gbìyànjú láti dé ibí èròngbà rẹ, ṣùgbọ́n ìkú rẹ kọ̀ fún láti dé ibẹ̀.

وَخامَرَت نَفسُ أَبي الجَبرِ الجَـوى حَتّى حَواهُ الحَتفُ فيمَن قَد حَـوى

Translation of the third-ten stanzas of Maqsurat ibn Dureid (مقصورة ابن دريد)

يا دَهرُ إِن لَم تَـكُ عُتبـى فَاِتَّئِـد فَـإِنَّ إِروادَكَ وَالعُتـبـى سَــوا

O You Time, if you are not blameworthy then slow down, because your gentleness and blameworthy are the same.

Ìwọ́ ìgbà tí óbá kọ̀ láti jẹ̀bi, pẹlẹ̀pẹlẹ̀ dí ọ́wọ́ rẹ. Tó rí wípé dájúdájú pẹlẹ̀pẹlẹ̀ rẹ atí ìjẹ̀bí rẹ́ bákanáà níí.

رَفِّـه عَلَـيَّ طالَـمـا أَنصَبتَـنـي وَاِستَبقِ بَعضَ ماءِ غُصنٍ مُلتَحـى

Enrich me! It had been long with this boredom you put me in, and please retain the water of a detached branch.

Wàá rọmí lọ̀rọ̀, otí pẹ́ tí ó tìn wàhálà mí, wàá ṣẹ̀kù ómí ìyókù ẹ́túntún ìgí tí wọ́n tí papó rẹ.

لا تَحسبَن يـا دَهـرُ أَنّـي جـازِعٌ لِنَكبَـةٍ تُعرِقُنـي عـرقَ الـم�

Translation of the second 10 stanzas to English

إِذا ذَوى الغُصنُ الرَطيبُ فَاعلَمَـن أَنَّ قُـصـاراهُ نَـفـاذٌ وَتَـــوى

If a succulent branch of a plant dried, just be cognizant that it will soon break and lost.

Nígbàtí ẹtúntún ígí bá tí rọọ́, wá lọ́ mọ pé dájúdájú péé ohùn tí yóò gbẹ̀yín rẹ ní títán atí ìpárùn.

شَجيتُ لا بَـل أَجرَضَتنـي غُصَّـةٌ عَنودُها أَقتَـلُ لـي مِـنَ الشَجـى

I appeared sorrowful; rather, I was choked by a bone that is obstinate to kill than the sorrow.

Ínú mí bàjẹ́, àmọ́ égún kán ló hámí lọ́rùn, títàkú rẹ yàrá pánì jú ìbànújẹ náà lọ́.

إِن يَحم عَن عَيني البُكـا تَجَلُّـدي فَالقَلبُ مَوقوفٌ عَلى سُبـلِ البُكـا

If my flexibility wipeout tears from my eyes, Just know that my heart is on the way to cry.

Translation of the first ten stanzas .

يـا ظَبيَـةً أَشبَـه شَـيءٍ بِالمَهـا تَرعى الخُزامى بَينَ أَشجـارِ النَّقـا

O Ye!, that resembles a Deer, grazing the lavenders among trees.

Mópé ìwọ́ abo egbín kan, tó ṣe pé ìwọ́ lofín jọ́ ẹ̀fọn igbó jù lọ́. Tí njẹ́ ewé márúgbó sóyọ́n.

إِمّا تَـرَي رَأسِـيَ حاكـي لَونُـهُ طُرَّةَ صُبحٍ تَحـتَ أَذيـالِ الدُجـى

If you see my head, its colour imitates a morning head under the tails of night.

Tí O bárí erímì, àwọ́rẹ̀ jọ́ ẹ̀gbẹ̀gbẹ́ òwúrọ̀ tí ńyọ́ lábẹ́ àwọn etetí òrú.

وَاِشتَعَـلَ المُبيَـضُّ فـي مُسـوَدِّهِ مِثلَ اِشتِعالِ النارِ في جَزلِ الغَضـى

And the white ignited more between the dark, like setting fire to a bunch of twigs.
