Admonition and Wisdom
Stanza 21-13 is a step further as tool admonition and wisdom to his readers.
"wisdom, pertaining to Arabic poetry has gained stand of importance by which none of Qazida (ode) will be compose in any forms of themes and message without at least of hikmah (wisdom)"¹⁹
The poet is obsessed by the importance of knowledge that is accompanied with the fear of Allah.
The poet demonstrates his religious inclination by saying that the apex or peak of knowledge is fear of Allah.
Al Sahili annotates that not the praise or outstanding ovation and reputation people ascribe to you; there are plethoral of Quranic verses that enjoin mankind to ensure that piety tops their to-do list.Q65v2- 4 provides.
and whosever fear Allah he will make for him a way out".
Also Q 8v29 provide: "O you have believed, if you fear Allah he will grant you a criterion and will remove from you your misdeeds and forgive you, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty." Other verses include Q2v177, Q10v63-64, Q39v49-54, Q54v54-55.
Another virtue preached by al-sahili is good conduct or deeds. The poet says knowledge that begets pride is tantamount to ignorance and it would have been better had he not learnt at all. Al sahili looks into Abubakr face and says you are drownednin pride. He laments and condemns knowledge that serves as the source of darkness (Abyss) instead of lightening up one's path. He strongly wishes such a person had not gone or sought for knowledge at all.
Almighty Allah in his unequal says: "I will turn
