In Al-sahili reply, he swallowed the anger and calmly replied Abubakar on issues which would have been more homely driven had he imbibed etiquettes of Islam. He admonished Abubakar about the risk of acting outrageously in the heat on anger and passion, a lot would be said and display
which might be difficult to amend or retracted. Anger might spring from pride, marveling, autumble, wealth, knowledge or acts of worship which would turn one into a real devil should they gather in him. Allah says: Muhammad (SAW) is the messenger of Allah and those who are with him are severe
against disbelieves and merciful among themselves (al fath 48:29)⁴³
As-sahili in his open-mindedness, advise Abubakar to repress anger and see patience as his second character Allah and when they are angry they forgive (q42v37) ⁴⁴
says: Allah also said:
"and do not equal are the good deeds and the bad repel (evil) by that deed which is better and there upon the one whom are between you and him is enemity (will become) as though he was devoted friend. But none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except one having a great portion of good. (q41v34-35)⁴⁵
Pertaining to these verse on Abbas has this to say:
⁴⁶ قال ابن عباس في الأية: الصبر عند الغضب والعفو عند الإساءة وإذا فعلوا ذالك عصمهم الله كأنه ولي حميم وخضع لهم عدة هم كأنه ولي حميم
