because it glitters and fades away within a short period. He considers knowledge as high as anything even a
wealthy ignorant will be of no help regardless of his accomplishments but knowledge is a fact that speakers for its wherever and whenever. Al-sahili emphasis's that his friend abubakr rated sheer ignorance materialism/or wealth higher than knowledge Al-Quran also emphasis on how learned ones are more cherished and recognized before Allah than any other thing.
"...Allah will raise those who have believed among you, and those who were give knowledge by degrees and Allah is acquainted with what you do" (q 58 v 11)²³.
Allah also said: Allah witnesses that there is no deity except him, and so do the angels and those of knowledge that he is maintaining creation in justice. There is no deity except him the exalted in might, the wise" (Q3v18) ²⁴
However, it is stipulated in history books that Ali, said to kameel "O kameel, knowledge is better than wealth; knowledge guards you whereas it is you who guard wealth. Those who have knowledge are rulers, whereas wealth is ruled, wealth as one spend it, whereas knowledge purifies those who spread it among other"²⁵.
Al-sahili justifies the stand of knowledge upon wealth by making Quranic allusion to suratul-l-taha in his poem in line 37, as a clear and divine evidence of the superiority of knowledge.
There is no other important verse in this chapter that has the same relatives messages to Al-sahili assertion.
"and do not extend your eyes towards that which we have given enjoyment to categories of them, the spender of worldly of life
