اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَحْمَدُكَ عَلَى مَا عَلَّمْتَ مِنَ الْبَيَانِ وَأَلْهَمْتَ مِنَ التِّبْيَانِ
O Allah, we praise You for what You have taught of eloquence and inspired us with clarity.
Ọlọ́hun, a yín Ọ fún ohun tí O ti kọ́ni nípa ọ̀rọ̀ mimo àti ohun tí O fí nù wá nípa àlàyé.
كَمَا نَحْمَدُكَ عَلَى مَا أَسْبَغْتَ مِنَ الْعَطَاءِ وَأَسْبَلْتَ مِنَ الْغِطَاءِ
We also praise You for the abundance You have bestowed and the protection You have provided.
A tún yín Ọ fún ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ohun tí O ti fún wa àti ààbò tí O ti pèsè.
وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شِرَّةِ اللَّسَنِ وَفُضُولِ الْهَذَرِ
We seek refuge in You from excessive speech and useless talk.
A wá ààbò lọ́dọ̀ Rẹ kúrò nínú ọ̀rọ̀ àsójù àti ọ̀rọ̀ asán.
كَمَا نَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ مَعَرَّةِ اللَّكَنِ وَفُضُوحِ الْحَصَرِ
As we seek refuge in You from the shame of stammering and the disgrace of being tongue-tied.
Bí a ti ń wá ààbò lọ́dọ̀ Rẹ kúrò nínú ìtìjú kíkọ́sẹ̀ àti ìdójútì àìlè sọ̀rọ̀.
وَنَسْتَكْفِي بِكَ الِافْتِتَانَ بِإِطْرَاءِ الْمَادِحِ وَإِغْضَاءِ الْمُسَامِحِ
We ask Your sufficiency against being charmed by praise or being lenient with the forgiving.
A bẹ̀ Ọ́ fún ìtọ́jú kúrò nínú ìtànjẹ oluyìn àti ìfàyàbálẹ̀ pẹ̀lú oludariji ni
كَمَا نَسْتَكْفِي بِكَ الِانْتِصَابَ لِإِزْرَاءِ الْقَادِحِ وَهَتْكِ الْفَاضِحِ
As we seek Your protection against standing up to slander or exposing the disgraced.
Bí a ti ń wá ìdáàbòbò Rẹ kúrò nínú dídìde sí ẹ̀gàn tàbí titu àṣírí ẹni tí a ti dójútì.
وَنَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِنْ سَوْقِ الشَّهَوَاتِ إِلَى سُوقِ الشُّبُهَاتِ
We seek Your forgiveness for driving desires to the market of doubts.
A tọrọ ìdáríjì Rẹ fún didari ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́ lọ sí ọjà iyèméjì.
كَمَا نَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِنْ نَقْلِ الْخَطَوَاتِ إِلَى خِطَطِ الْخَطِيئَاتِ
As we seek Your forgiveness for taking steps towards sinful plans.
Bí a ti ń tọrọ ìdáríjì Rẹ fún gbígbé ìgbésẹ̀ sí awon ètò ẹ̀ṣẹ̀.
وَنَسْتَوْهِبُ مِنْكَ تَوْفِيقًا قَائِدًا إِلَى الرُّشْدِ وَقَلْبًا مُتَقَلِّبًا مَعَ الْحَقِّ
We ask You for guidance leading to righteousness and a heart that turns with the truth.
A bẹ̀ Ọ́ fún ìtọ́sọ́nà tí ó ń darí eyan sí òdodo àti ọkàn tí ó ń yí pẹ̀lú òtítọ́.
وَلِسَانًا مُتَحَلِّيًا بِالصِّدْقِ وَنُطْقًا مُؤَيَّدًا بِالْحُجَّةِ
And a tongue adorned with truthfulness and speech supported by evidence.
Àti ahọ́n tí a ṣe lọ́ṣọ̀ọ́ pẹ̀lú òtítọ́ àti ọ̀rọ̀ tí a fi múlẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ẹrí.
