ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn ʿĀshir says, beginning with the name of the All-Powerful God.
ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn ʿĀshir ń sọ̀rọ̀, ó ń bẹ̀rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú orúkọ Ọlọ́hun Olágbára.
All praise is due to Allah, who has given us from knowledge that with which He obligated us.
Gbogbo ìyìn jẹ́ ti Alláhu, Ẹni tí ó ti fún wa lára ìmọ̀ pẹ̀lú èyí tí ó fi pa wá láṣẹ.
May He send prayers and peace upon Muḥammad, his family, his companions, and the one who follows (his guidance).
Kí Alláhu rán àdúrà àti àlàáfíà sí Muḥammad, àwọn ẹbí rẹ̀, àwọn ọrẹ́ rẹ̀, àti ẹni tí ó bá tọ̀ ọ́ lẹ́yìn.
And after that, the aid is from Allah, the Glorious, in arranging verses for the unlettered one (the common person) that will be beneficial.
Lẹ́yìn èyí, ìrànlọ́wọ́ láti ọ̀dọ̀ Alláhu Ọlọ́lá ni, nínú sísọ àwọn ẹsẹ ìwí lọ́nà tí ó wúlò fún aláìkàwé (gbajúmọ̀).
In the creed of al-Ashʿarī, the jurisprudence of Mālik, and upon the path of al-Junayd, the wayfarer (to Allah).
Nínú ìgbàgbọ́ al-Ashʿarī, ìmọ̀-ọ̀ràn Mālik, àti lórí ọ̀nà al-Junayd, arìnrìn-àjò (sí ọ̀dọ̀ Alláhu).
