In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The eminent Imam and illustrious scholar, the foremost of the later scholars and the exemplar of the firmly grounded sages, Athīr al-Dīn al-Abharī—may Allah sanctify his soul and make Paradise his abode—said: “We praise Allah for His granting us success, and we ask Him for a guiding path. We invoke blessings and peace upon Muhammad and upon all his family. To proceed: This is a treatise on the science of logic, in which we have set forth what a beginner embarking upon any of the sciences ought to have present in mind, seeking assistance from Allah. Indeed, He is the Bestower of goodness and generosity.”

Ni orúkọ Ọlọhun olùṣe ikẹ ẹ̀dá láàyè àti lọrun. Onimimọ àgbà, ẹ̀eyan tó ní ọlá julọ ninu awọn tó gbẹ̀yìn, ariwokọṣe fún àwọn ọjọgbọn tí wọ́n rín lẹ, Àsírù Dínì Àbhárí- kí Ọlọhun jẹ erùpẹ̀ saare rẹ kí ó mọ, kí o sì jẹ ki àyè rẹ jẹ ọgbà idẹra- wípé: Ọpẹ fún Ọlọhun lórí kongẹ rẹ, àwa ń béèrè lọ́wọ́ rẹ fún ọna imọna, asi ṣe àdúa ati ikẹ fún Muhammadu àti àwọn ará ilé rẹ, lápapọ, lẹ́yìn náà: Èyí ní ìwé ifiranṣẹ lórí mimọ Mọntíkì (Ìròrí), akọ sínú rẹ, ohùn tí ó yẹ kí o wá nínú rẹ fún alakọbẹrẹ ẹ̀kọ nínú àwọn mimọ, pẹ̀lú wíwà iranlọwọ Ọlọhun, Dájúdájú Ó jẹ́ rọjo ire àti ọrẹ.
