The importance of Islam education may be understood if we reflect upon the first word of the revelation that came to the prophet Muhammad (SAW) The first word of the revelation was "Iqra" is a very comprehensive word. It instructed prophet Muhammad and his followers to read, write, understand, share
and propagate means'⁵
However, the interpretation of "Iqra" in the first revelation (Q96v1-5) to the Prophet, stresses out the importance and significance of seeking knowledge.
Allah says: "Recite in the name of lord who created, he created man from a clinging substance. Recite and your lord is the most generous. Who taught by the pen, he taught man that which he knows not:
These Qur'an verses vividly support the query which Al-sahili sent to Abubakar about the treasure inherent in learning. "The prophet said: The seeking of knowledge is obligation for every Muslim (Al-tirmidhi) related it"⁶.
The next line tells much of the knowledge that Al-sahili is relishing: knowledge that commands respect and put you head of your: that which enthrones and makes you a leader.

"To some knowledge which make you a leader,
Who obeyed if you forbid or command
".

He paint the picture of qualification which Shariah stipulates for a person at the helm of affairs.
"...are those who known equal to those who not know? it is only men of understand who will remember" (Q39v9)⁷.
