مُقَدِّمَة

And accuracy that repels deviation, and determination that conquers the soul's desires.

Àti òtítọ́ tí ó ń lé ìṣìna jìnnà, àti ìpinnu tí ó ń ṣẹ́gun ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́ ọkàn.

And insight by which we perceive the recognition of degree.

Àti òye tí a fi ń mọ ìmọ̀ osuwon.

And that You make us fortunate with guidance to knowledge.

Kí O sì mú ṣe orire pẹ̀lú ìtọ́sọ́nà sí ìmọ̀.

And support us with help in clarification.

Kí O sì ṣe àtìlẹ́yìn wa pẹ̀lú ìrànlọ́wọ́ nínú àlàyé.

And protect us from error in narration.

Kí O sì dá wa sí kúrò nínú àṣìṣe nínú ìtàn-àrọ́sọ.

And turn us away from foolishness in humor.

Kí O sì yí wa padà kúrò nínú àṣejù nínú ẹ̀rín.

So that we may be safe from the harvest of tongues and be spared the calamities of embellishment.

Kí a lè ní ìfokanbale kúrò nínú awon èso ahọ́n àti kí a lè bọ́ lọ́wọ́ àjálù oro iro

So we do not approach a source of sin nor stand in a position of regret.

Kí a má bàa lọ sí orísun ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ tàbí dúró ní ipò ìbànújẹ́.

And we are not burdened with consequences or blame.

Kí a má se fowofa inira tàbí ẹ̀bi.

And we do not resort to excuses for a hasty action.

Kí a má sì wa ààbò sí àra àwáwí fún ìṣe àìrònú.
