الْمَقَامَةُ الصَّنْعَانِيَّةُ

Until when will you persist in your error?

Títí di ìgbà wo ni ìwọ yóò tẹ̀síwájú nínú àṣìṣe rẹ?

And find pleasure in the pasture of your transgression?

Tí o sì ń ní inú dídùn sí pápá ìrékọjá rẹ?

And until when will you go to extremes in your pride?

Títí di ìgbà wo ni ìwọ yóò lọ sí òpin nínú ìgbéraga rẹ?

And not desist from your amusement?

Tí o kò sì ní dá ṣe àṣeré rẹ dúró?

You challenge with your disobedience the Owner of your forelock

Ìwọ ń pẹ̀gan pẹ̀lú àìgbọràn rẹ Ẹni tí ó ni aaso orí rẹ

And you dare with the ugliness of your conduct against the Knower of your secrets

O sì ń gbódì pẹ̀lú ìwà búburú rẹ sí Ẹni tí ó mọ àwọn àṣírí rẹ

And you hide from your relative while you are in view of your Watcher

O sì ń fi ara pamọ́ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ ẹbí rẹ nígbà tí o wà níwájú Olùṣọ́ rẹ

And you conceal from your slave while nothing is hidden from your King

O sì ń fi ara pamọ́ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ ẹrú rẹ nígbà tí kò sí ohun tí ó pamọ́ fún Ọba rẹ

Do you think your state will benefit you when your departure is due?

Ṣé o rò pé ipò rẹ yóò ṣe é ní àǹfààní nígbà tí àsìkò ìrìnàjò rẹ bá dé?

Or your wealth will save you when your deeds destroy you?

Tàbí ọrọ̀ rẹ yóò gbà ọ́ là nígbà tí àwọn iṣẹ́ rẹ bá ń pa ọ́ run?
