الْمَقَامَةُ الصَّنْعَانِيَّةُ

Each of them put their hand in their pocket

Ọ̀kọ̀ọ̀kan wọn fi ọwọ́ sínú àpò wọn

And filled a bucket from their gift for him

Wọ́n sì kún àwo fún un pẹ̀lú ẹ̀bùn wọn

And said: Spend this on your expenses

Wọ́n sì wí pé: Lo èyí fún àwọn ohun tí o nílò

Or distribute it among your companions

Tàbí pín in káàkiri àwọn ẹgbẹ́ rẹ

So he accepted it from them, lowering his gaze

Ó sì gba á lọ́wọ́ wọn, ó rẹ ojú rẹ̀ sílẹ̀

And turned away from them, while praising them

Ó sì yípadà kúrò lọ́dọ̀ wọn, ó si ń yìn wọ́n

And he began bidding farewell to those who were seeing him off

Ó sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ní dágbére fún àwọn tí wọ́n ń ṣe ìkẹ́yìn rẹ̀

To hide his path from them

Láti fi ọ̀nà rẹ̀ pamọ́ fún wọn

And to slip away from those who follow him

Àti láti yọ̀ kúrò lọ́wọ́ àwọn tí wọ́n ń tẹ̀lé e

So that they might not know his dwelling place
