Then he recited: Woe to the seeker of the world
Lẹ́yìn náà ó sọ: Ègbé ni fún olùwá ayé
Who bends his devotion towards it
Tí ó ń tẹ orí rẹ̀ ba fún un
He does not awaken from his passion for it and his excessive infatuation
Kò jí kúrò nínú ìfẹ́ rẹ̀ àti ìfẹ́ àṣejù rẹ̀
If he knew, a sip would suffice him from what he desires
Tí ó bá mọ̀, mímu díẹ̀ ìbá tó fún un nínú ohun tí ó ń fẹ́
Then he calmed his dust
Lẹ́yìn náà ó tú erùpẹ̀ rẹ̀ ka
And dried his saliva
Ó sì gbẹ itọ́ ẹnu rẹ̀
And carried his water bottle on his arm
Ó sì gbe kondo re ko apa
And tucked his staff under his arm
Ó sì gbé ọ̀pá rẹ̀ sí abẹ́ apá rẹ̀
When the group gazed at his readiness
Nígbà tí àwọn ènìyàn wo ìmúrasílẹ̀ rẹ̀
And saw his preparation to leave his position
Tí wọ́n sì rí ìmúrasílẹ̀ rẹ̀ láti kúrò ní ijoko rẹ̀
