And would have visited prison if not for the judge of Alexandria
Ìbá sì ti lọ sẹ́wọ̀n bí kò bá ṣe fún adájọ́ Aleksandria
The judge laughed until his cap fell and his composure withered.
Adájọ́ rẹ́rìn-ín títí tí fìlà rẹ fi jabo , ìwọ̀ntúnwọ̀nsì rẹ̀ sì rọ.
When he returned to his dignity,
Nígbà tí ó padà sí ìfarabalẹ rẹ̀,
And he followed astonishment with seeking forgiveness.
Ó sì tẹ̀lé ìyàlẹ́nu pẹ̀lú ìwá àforíjìn.
He said: O Allah, by the sanctity of Your close servants.
Ó sọ pé: Ìwọ Ọlọ́run, nípasẹ̀ ọ̀wọ̀ àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ tí ó súnmọ́ ọ́.
Forbid my imprisonment upon the well-mannered.
Ṣe ẹwọ̀n mi ni eewọ lórí àwọn tí ó ní ìwà rere.
Then he said to that trustworthy one: Bring him to me.
Lẹ́yìn náà ó sọ fún ẹni olóòótọ́ náà pé: Mú un wá sí ọ̀dọ̀ mi.
So he set off, diligently seeking him.
Nítorí náà, ó jáde lọ, ó ń wá a pẹ̀lú àìsimi.
Then he returned after his slowness.
Lẹ́yìn náà ó padà lẹ́yìn ìgbà pípẹ́.
Informing of his distance.
Ó ń sọ nípa jíjìnnà rẹ̀.
