الْمَقَامَةُ الدِّينَارِيَّةُ

71

وجيشِ هم هزمتْه كرتُه.

And armies of worries defeated by its return,

opo awọn ọmọ-ogun ìbànújẹ́ ni pípadà rẹ̀ ti ṣẹ́gun,

وبدرِ تِم أنزلَتْه بدرتُه.


English

And full moons brought down by its lump,

melo melo òṣùpá kíkún tí àkójọ rẹ̀ ti mú wálẹ̀,

ومستَشيطٍ تتلظّى جمرتُه.


English

And enraged ones whose embers are blazing,

Àti ẹni tí inú bí tí iná ìbínú wọn ń jó,

أسر نجواه فلانَتْ شِرتُه .


English

He whispered to it, and his wickedness softened,

Ó sọ̀rọ̀ sí i ní ìkọ̀kọ̀, ìwà búburú rẹ̀ sì rọ̀,

وكم أسيرٍ أسلمتْه أُسرتُه .


English

And how many prisoners abandoned by their families,

Ọ̀pọ̀ àwọn ẹlẹ́wọ̀n tí ìdílé wọn ti kọ̀ sílẹ̀,

أنقَذَه حتى صفَتْ مسرتُه.


English

It rescued until their joy became pure,

Ó gbà wọ́n là títí inú wọn fi dùn,

77

وحقِّ مولًى أبدعتْه فِطْرتُه .


English

By the right of a master creature created it,

Ní òrúkọ Olúwa tí edá rẹ̀ dá a,

78

لولا التُقَى لقُلتُ جلّتْ قُدرتُه .


English

Were it not for piety, I would say: Great is its power.

Yoruba

Bí kì bá ṣe ìbẹ̀rù Ọlọ́run, ìbá sọ pé: Títóbi ni agbára rẹ̀.

ثم بسط يده.


English

Then he stretched out his hand,

Lẹ́yìn náà ó na ọwọ́ rẹ̀,

بعدما أنشده.

After he recited it,
