So I pulled out another dinar,
Nítorí náà mo yọ dínárì mìíràn jáde,
And said to him: Would you like to dispraise it,
Mo sì sọ fún un pé: Ṣé o fẹ́ bú u,
Then embrace it?
Kí o sì tún gbà á?
So he recited impromptu, and sang quickly:
Nítorí náà ó sọ lójijì, ó sì kọrin kíákíá:
Woe to it, a deceiver and a hypocrite,
Ègbé ni fún un, aṣẹ̀tàn àti àgàbàgebè,
Yellow with two faces like the hypocrite,
O pọ́ń pẹ̀lú ojú méjì bí àgàbàgebè,
Appearing with two descriptions to the observer's eye,
Ó ń farahàn pẹ̀lú àpèjúwe méjì sí ojú olùwòran,
The adornment of the beloved and the color of the lover,
Ọ̀ṣọ́ olùfẹ́ àti àwọ̀ ẹni tí ń fẹ́ràn,
And its love, to those of truth,
Ìfẹ́ rẹ̀, fún àwọn tó mọ òtítọ́,
Calls to commit the wrath of the Creator.
Ń pèpe láti ṣe ohun tí yóò bà ibinu Ẹlẹ́dàá.
