So how are you and the events?
Báwo ni ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ àti àwọn ìṣẹ̀lẹ̀?
He said: I fluctuate between two states, misery and ease,
Ó sọ pé: Mo ń yí káàkiri láàrin ipò méjì, ìpọ́njú àti ìrọ̀rùn,
And I turn with the two winds, violent and gentle.
Mo sì ń yípadà pẹ̀lú afẹ́fẹ́ méjì, líle àti jẹ́ẹ́.
I said: How did you claim to limp?
Mo sọ pé: Báwo ni o ṣe sọ pé o ń tẹ̀sẹ̀?
And one like you doesn't jest.
Ẹni bí ìwọ kì í ṣe ẹlẹ́yà.
So his joy that had appeared concealed itself.
Nítorí náà ayọ̀ rẹ̀ tó ti farahàn pa ara rẹ̀ mọ́.
Then he recited as he turned away:
Lẹ́yìn náà ó sọ bí ó ṣe ń lọ pé:
I feigned limping not out of desire for lameness,
Mo ṣe bí ẹni tó ń tẹ̀sẹ̀ kì í ṣe pé mo fẹ́ tẹ̀sẹ̀,
But to knock on the door of relief.
Ṣùgbọ́n láti kán ìlẹ̀kún ìdáǹdè.
And to throw my rope on my withers,
Àti láti jù okùn mi sí ẹ̀yìn mi,
