Al-Harith bin Hammam said:
Harisu ọmọ Hammam sọ pé:
My heart whispered to me that he was Abu Zayd,
Ọkàn mi sọ fún mi pé Abu Seidu ni,
And that his limping was a trick.
Àti pé ìtẹ̀sẹ̀ rẹ̀ jẹ́ ẹ̀tàn.
So I called him back and said to him:
Nítorí náà mo pè é padà mo sì sọ fún un pé:
You've been recognized by your embroidery.
A ti mọ̀ ọ́ nípa aṣọ rẹ tó ní ìṣẹ́ ọnà.
So walk straight.
Nítorí náà, rìn déédé.
He said: If you are Ibn Hammam,
Ó sọ pé: Tí o bá jẹ́ ọmọ Hammam,
May you be greeted with honor,
Kí a kí ọ pẹ̀lú ọlá,
And may you be greeted among the honorable!
Kí a sì kí ọ láàrin àwọn ọlọ́lá!
I said: I am Al-Harith.
Mo sọ pé: Èmi ni Harisu.
