Bí o bá rìn káàkiri ilẹ̀ lórí ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀, yóò lọ káàkiri láì bẹ̀rù ìrora tàbí ẹ̀sùn.

You think him hidden, though he is seen, veiled from eyes whether he rises or falls.

O rò pé ó farapamọ́, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé a rí i, ó bojú mu láti ojú, bó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé ó dìde tàbí ṣubú.

If you strive to gaze after him, you say: a flash of light or a hidden lightning.

Bí o bá tiraka láti wo ọ́ lẹ́yìn, ìwọ yóò sọ pé: ìmọ́lẹ̀ kan tàbí àrá tí ó farapamọ́.

As if Orion were in his wrists, and the star upon his forehead when he appears.

Bí ẹni pé irawọ̀ Orion wà ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀, irawọ̀ sì wà lórí iwájú rẹ̀ nígbà tí ó hàn.

These are my sufficient weapons prepared; let whoever withdraws keep far from me.

Àwọn ni ohun ìjà tó tó fún mi, mo ti pèsè wọn; kí ẹni tí ó yà sílẹ̀ máa jìnà sí mi.
