Ṣé bẹ́ẹ̀ ni, tàbí pẹ̀lú ẹṣin tí ń sare ní pápá, ejika wọn ń dìde, egungun wọn ń tẹ̀ sí ẹgbẹ́.
Disheveled, they race like branches of ghada trees, their eyelids tilting, competing with spears.
Wọ́n dà bí ẹni tí kò ní ìtọ́jú, wọ́n ń sare bí ẹ̀ka igi ghada, ojú wọn ń tẹ̀, wọ́n ń bá ọ̀fà ṣeré.
They carry every brave warrior, noble of heart, plunging into the depths of battle.
Wọ́n ń gbé gbogbo jagunjagun alágbára, ẹni tí ọkàn rẹ̀ jẹ́ ọlọ́lá, tó ń wọ inú ogun.
He faces the blaze of death with both its edges, when the flame of death is hateful to the scorched.
Ó dojú kọ iná ikú pẹ̀lú ẹgbẹ́ méjì rẹ̀, nígbà tí iná ikú di ohun tí a kò fẹ́ fún ẹni tí a jó.
If death were represented to him as a rival, no awe would turn him away nor would he retreat.
Bí ikú bá jẹ́ ẹni tí ó dojú kọ́, kò sí ìbẹ̀rù tó lè dá a dúró, kò sì ní yí padà.
And if destiny protected a soul from him, he would seek it or seize what was guarded.
Tí ayé bá dá ẹ̀mí kan lórí rẹ̀, yóò wá a tàbí gba ohun tí a dáàbò bo.
Deaths become obedient to his command, accepting what he accepts and refusing what he refuses.
Ikú di ẹni tí ń tẹ̀síwájú nípa àṣẹ rẹ̀, ń gba ohun tí ó gba, ń kọ ohun tí ó kọ.
Nay, by the lofty peaks of Yaʿrub, is there an end for one who swears after this?
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni, nípasẹ̀ òkè gíga ti Yaʿrub, ṣé òpin wà fún ẹni tí ń búra lẹ́yìn èyí?
They are the ones who, if they boast, the Most High declares: the dust of the earth has honored you.
Wọ́n ni àwọn tí, bí wọ́n bá ń yọ̀rí, Olúwa gíga sọ pé: erùpẹ̀ ayé ti fi yín hàn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹni pàtàkì.
