الْمَقَامَةُ الْكُوفِيَّةُ

141

قَالَ الرَّاوِي:


English

The narrator said:

Yoruba

Akọ̀ròyìn náà sọ pé:

142

فَالْتَزَمَ مِنْهُ كُلٌّ مِنَّا قِسْطًا.


English

So each of us committed to a portion of it.

Yoruba

Nítorí náà, ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan wa ṣe ìlérí apá kan nínú rẹ̀.

143

وَكَتَبَ لَهُ بِهِ قِطًّا.


English

And wrote for him a receipt.

Yoruba

A sì kọ ìwé ìgbàsílẹ̀ fún un.

144

فَشَكَرَ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ الصَّنْعَ.


English

He thanked us then for that act.

Yoruba

Ó dúpẹ́ lọ́wọ́ wa fún iṣẹ́ náà.

145

وَاسْتَنْفَدَ فِي الثَّنَاءِ الْوُسْعَ.


English

And exhausted his capacity in praise.

Yoruba

Ó sì lo gbogbo agbára rẹ̀ láti yìn wá.

146

حَتَّى إِنَّنَا اسْتَطَلْنَا الْقَوْلَ.


English

Until we found the speech long.

Títí tí a fi rí i pé ọ̀rọ̀ náà gùn jù.

147

وَاسْتَقْلَلْنَا الطَّوْلَ.


English

And considered the favor small.

Yoruba

A sì ka ọrẹ náà sí kékeré.

148

ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ نَشَرَ مِنْ وَشْيِ السَّمَرِ.


English

Then he spread from the embroidery of night talk.

Yoruba

Lẹ́yìn náà, ó tàn ìṣọ̀rọ̀ alẹ́ rẹ̀ kalẹ̀.

مَا أَزْرَى بِالْحِبْرِ.


English

What put ink to shame.

Yoruba

Ohun tí ó mú kí tádà tijú.

150

إِلَى أَنْ أَظَلَّ التَّنْوِيرُ.


English

Until the light of dawn appeared.

Yoruba

Títí tí ìmọ́lẹ̀ òwúrọ̀ fi yọ.
