And the bright morning emerged.
Òwúrọ̀ dídán sì tàn jáde.
So we spent a night whose impurities disappeared.
Nítorí náà, a lo òru kan tí gbogbo èérí rẹ̀ parẹ́.
Until its forelock turned gray.
Títí tí irun iwájú rẹ̀ fi di funfun.
And its fortunes were completed.
Àwọn ire rẹ̀ sì pé.
Until its stem burst.
Títí tí igi rẹ̀ fi bẹ́.
And when the horn of the gazelle (sun) appeared.
Nígbà tí ìwo oòrùn bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ní yọ.
He leapt like the leap of a gazelle.
Ó bẹ́ sókè bí bìbẹ́ àgbọ̀nrín.
And said: Rise with us to collect the donations.
Ó sì wí pé: Ẹ dìde kí a lọ gba àwọn ẹ̀bùn náà.
And to cash the cheques.
Kí a sì gba àwọn ìwé owó náà.
For the cracks of my liver have spread.
Nítorí àwọn ìlà ẹ̀dọ̀ mi ti tàn kálẹ̀.
