الْمَقَامَةُ الْبَرْقَعِيدِيَّةُ

And I pointed to the dirham

Mo sì na ọwọ́ sí owó dírhámù náà

Then reveal the ambiguous secret

Nígbà náà fi àṣírí tí kò yé ní hàn

And if you refuse to explain

Tí o bá kọ̀ láti ṣàlàyé

Then take the piece and go

Nígbà náà mú ège náà kí o sì lọ

So she inclined to extracting the full moon

Nítorí náà ó fẹ́ láti mú òṣùpá kíkún náà

And the bright, important one

Àti èyí tí ó mọ́lẹ̀, tí ó ṣe pàtàkì

And she said: Leave your argument

Ó sì sọ pé: Fi àríyànjiyàn rẹ sílẹ̀

Kí o sì béèrè nípa ohun tí ó farahàn sí ọ
