الْمَقَامَةُ الْبَرْقَعِيدِيَّةُ

He said: Woe to you, O foolish one

Ó sọ pé: Ègbé ni fún ọ, ìwọ aṣiwèrè

Are we to be deprived, woe to you, of the hunt and the trap

Ṣé a ó pàdánù, ó ṣe fun ọ́, ọdẹ àti pàkúté

And the fire brand and the wick

Àti ẹ̀fín iná àti òwú-fìtílà

It is indeed a bundle on top of a load!

Dájúdájú ó jẹ́ ìdì lórí ìdì!

So she set out to retrace her steps

Nítorí náà ó bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ní tẹ̀lé ìlànà ìrìn rẹ̀

Láti wá ìwé kíká rẹ̀
