الْمَقَامَةُ الْبَرْقَعِيدِيَّةُ

She sought refuge in saying "We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return"

Ó wá ààbò nínú sísọ pé "Ti Ọlọ́hun ni wá, ọ̀dọ̀ Rẹ̀ ni a ó padà sí"

And she inclined to returning the notes

Ó sì fẹ́ láti dá àwọn ìwé kékeré náà padà

And Satan made her to forget my note

Èṣù sì mú kí ó gbàgbé ìwé kékeré tèmi

So she did not return to my spot

Nítorí náà kò padà sí ọdọ mi

And she returned to the old man, crying for deprivation

Ó sì padà sí ọ̀dọ̀ àgbàlagbà náà, ń sọkún fún àìrí

Complaining of the oppression of time

Ń fi ẹ̀sùn kan ìnilára àkókò

He said: Indeed we belong to Allah

Ó sọ pé: Dájúdájú ti Ọlọ́hun ni wá

And I entrust my affair to Allah

Mo sì fi ọ̀rọ̀ mi lé Ọlọ́hun lọ́wọ́

There is no might nor power except through Allah

Kò sí agbára tàbí ipá àyàfi pẹ̀lú Ọlọ́hun

Then he recited

Lẹ́yìn náà ó kọrin
