الْمَقَامَةُ الْمَعَرِّيَّةُ

For not every ruler pardons, and not in every time is talk heeded.

Nítorí kì í ṣe gbogbo aláṣẹ ló ń dárí jì, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kì í ṣe nígbà gbogbo ni a ń tẹ́tí sí ọ̀rọ̀.

So the elder promised him to follow his advice and to refrain from disguising his appearance.

Nítorí náà àgbàlagbà náà ṣe ìlérí láti tẹ̀lé ìmọ̀ràn rẹ̀ àti láti dẹ́kun dídá ara rẹ̀ kọ́.

And he departed from his presence, with treachery gleaming from his forehead.

Ó sì kúrò níwájú rẹ̀, pẹ̀lú ẹ̀tàn tí ń kọ́ lójú rẹ̀.

Al-Harith bin Hammam said: I have not seen anything more wondrous than this in the vicissitudes of travels, nor have I read anything like it in the compositions of books.

Hárìsù ọmọ Hammam sọ pé: Èmi kò tí ì rí ohun tó yà ní ẹnu jù èyí lọ nínú àwọn ìyípadà ìrìnàjò, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi kò tí ì ka irú rẹ̀ nínú àwọn ìwé tí a ti kọ rí.
