الْمَقَامَةُ الْمَعَرِّيَّةُ

41

عَنْ أَرْشِ مَا أَوْهَنْتُهُ.


English

For the compensation of what I have weakened.

Fún ìsan ohun tí mo ti bà jẹ́.

42

مَمْلُوكًا لِي مُتَنَاسِبَ الطَّرَفَيْنِ.


English

A slave of mine, proportionate in both ends.

Ẹrú mi kan, tí ó dára ní ìhà méjèèjì.

43

مُنْتَسِبًا إِلَى الْقَيْنِ.


English

Descended from blacksmiths.

Yoruba

Tí ó jẹ́ ọmọ ará ilé agbẹ́dẹ.

نَقِيًّا مِنَ الدَّرَنِ وَالشَّيْنِ.


English

Pure from filth and blemish.

Yoruba

Tí ó mọ́ kúrò nínú èérí àti àbàwọ́n.

45

يُقَارِنُ مَحَلُّهُ سَوَادَ الْعَيْنِ.


English

His place is comparable to the blackness of the eye.

Ipò rẹ̀ dàbí dúdú ojú.

46

يُفْشِي الْإِحْسَانَ.


English

He spreads kindness.

Yoruba

Ó ń tàn ìnúrere káàkiri.

47

وَيُنْشِئُ الِاسْتِحْسَانَ.


English

And creates admiration.

Ó sì ń mú ìyìn dìde.

وَيُغْذِي الْإِنْسَانَ.


English

And nourishes mankind.

Ó ń bọ́ ọmọ ènìyàn.

49

وَيَتَحَامَى اللِّسَانَ.


English

And avoids the tongue.

Ó sì ń yẹra fún ahọ́n.

50

إِنْ سَوَّدَ جَادَ.


English

If he blackens, he excels.

Yoruba

Tí ó bá dúdú, ó ń ṣe déédé.
