الْمَقَامَةُ الْمَعَرِّيَّةُ

Or if he brands, he does well.

Tàbí tí ó bá ṣàmì, ó ń ṣe dáadáa.

And when provided, he gives provisions.

Tí a bá fún un ní nǹkan, ó ń fún ni ní ìpèsè.

And whenever more is asked, he increases.

Nígbàkígbà tí a bá béèrè fún sí i, ó ń pọ̀ sí i.

He does not settle in one place.

Kò fi ẹsẹ̀ múlẹ̀ ní ibìkan.

And he rarely marries except in pairs.

Ó sì ṣọ̀wọ́n fún un láti fẹ́ ìyàwó àyàfi ní ẹ̀ẹ́mejì.

He is generous with what he has.

Ó ń ṣe ọọ̀rẹ́ pẹ̀lú ohun tí ó ní.

And he rises in his generosity.

Ó sì ń ga nínú ìnú rere rẹ̀.

And he submits to his companion.

Ó sì ń tẹríba fún ẹlẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀.

Even if she is not of his nature.

Bí kò tilẹ̀ jẹ́ irú rẹ̀.

And he enjoys his adornment.

Ó sì ń gbádùn ọ̀ṣọ́ rẹ̀.
