الْمَقَامَةُ الْمَعَرِّيَّةُ

And she is watered, but not from pools.

A sì máa ń fún un ní omi, ṣùgbọ́n kì í ṣe láti inú adágún.

Sincere yet deceptive.

Olóòótọ́ ṣùgbọ́n àrékérekè.

Hidden yet revealing.

Apamọ́ ṣùgbọ́n afihàn.

Naturally inclined to benefit.

Aṣẹ̀dá rẹ láti ṣe àwọn ohun tí ó wúlò.

And obedient in hardship and ease.

Ó sì ń gbọ́ràn ní àkókò ìṣòro àti ìrọ̀rùn.

When she cuts, she connects.

Nígbà tí ó bá gé, ó máa ń so mọ́ ara wọn.

And when you separate her from you, she detaches.

Àti pé nígbà tí o bá yà á sọ́tọ̀ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ rẹ, yóò ya ara rẹ̀ sọ́tọ̀.

And how often she served you and beautified.

Ó sì ti ṣe ìránṣẹ́ fún ọ lọ́pọ̀lọpọ̀ ìgbà, ó sì ṣe é lọ́ṣọ̀ọ́.

And perhaps she wronged you, so she pained and disturbed.

Bóyá ó ti ṣe ọ́ ní ibi, nítorí náà yóò rí ìrora yóò sì dà mú.

And this young man used her from me for a purpose.

Àti pé ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin yìí lo ó lọ́dọ̀ mi fún ète kan.
