الْمَقَامَةُ الْحُلْوَانِيَّةُ

31

فَكَانَ لِمَحَاسِنِ آلَاتِهِ.


English

So for the beauty of his tools,

Yoruba

Nítorí ẹwà irinṣẹ́ rẹ̀,

32

يلْبَسُ عَلَى عِلَّاتِهِ.


English

his flaws was covered,

Yoruba

Ni àwọn eeyan n fí n bo àwọn àbùkù rẹ̀ mọ́lẹ̀.

33

وَلِسَعَةِ رِوَايَتِهِ.


English

And for the breadth of his narration,

Fún ìtàn rẹ̀ tí ó tóbi,

34

يصْبَى إِلَى رُؤْيَتِهِ.


English

one would yearn to see him.

Yoruba

ènìyàn yóò máa fẹ́ láti rí i.

35

وَلِخَلَّابَةِ عَارِضَتِهِ.


English

And for the charm of his wit,

Yoruba

Fún agbára ọgbọ́n rẹ̀,

36

يرْغَبُ عَنْ مُعَارَضَتِهِ.


English

one would refrain from opposing him.

Yoruba

ènìyàn yóò fàsẹ́yìn láti tako o.

37

وَلِعُذُوبَةِ إِيرَادِهِ.


English

And for the sweetness of his expression,

Yoruba

Fún adùn ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀,

38

يُسْعَفُ بِمُرَادِهِ.


English

he was granted his desire.

Yoruba

a fún un ní ohun tí ó fẹ́.

39

فَتَعَلَّقْتُ بِأَهْدَابِهِ.


English

So I clung to the ends of his robe,

Yoruba

Nítorí náà mo di mọ́ eti aṣọ rẹ̀,

40

لِخَصَائِصِ آدَابِهِ.


English

for the uniqueness of his manners.

Yoruba

nítorí àwọn ìwà rẹ̀ tí kò ṣe é fiwé.
