الْمَقَامَةُ الدِّمْيَاطِيَّةُ

He said: So I read the saddle to the group.

Ó sọ pé: Nítorí náà mo ka ohun tí ó kọ sí gàárì fún àwọn ẹgbẹ́.

So that those who blamed might excuse him.

Kí àwọn tí ó bá ń bínú lè dárí jí i.

They were amazed by his fable.

Ẹnu sì ya wọ́n sí ìrọ rẹ̀.

And sought refuge from his calamity.

Wọ́n sì wá ààbò kúrò nínú ìparun rẹ̀.

Then we departed.

Lẹ́yìn náà a kúrò níbẹ̀.

And we didn't know who chose another to replace us.

A kò sì mọ ẹni tó ṣẹṣa ẹlòmíràn dipò wa.
