الْمَقَامَةُ الرَّحْبِيَّةُ

And the waists with slenderness

Àti àwọn ìbàdí pẹ̀lú títẹẹrẹ.

Indeed, I did not kill your son, neither by mistake nor intentionally.

Lóòótọ́, èmi kò pa ọmọ rẹ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kì í ṣe àṣìṣe tàbí ọ̀nà àmọ̀ṣe.

Nor did I make his head a sheath for my sword.

Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi kò fi orí rẹ̀ ṣe àkọ fún idà mi.

Otherwise, may Allah afflict my eyelids with inflammation.

Bí bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́, kí Ọlọ́hun fi àìsàn kọlu ìpéǹpẹ́jú mi.

And my cheeks with freckles.

Àti ẹ̀rẹ̀kẹ́ mi pẹ̀lú làpálàpá .

And my forelock with baldness.

Àti iwájú orí mi pẹ̀lú pipá.

And my palm shoots with unripe dates.

Àti ẹ̀ka ọpẹ mi pẹ̀lú ẹ̀yin àìpọ́n.

And my rose with ox-eye daisy.

Àti òdòdó mi pẹ̀lú ewé ògùnṣọnṣọ.

And my musk with vapor.

Àti òórùn dídùn mi pẹ̀lú erùkù.

And my full moon with a crescent.

Àti òṣùpá kíkún mi pẹ̀lú ileteṣu.
