tàbí kí àbùkù má ba à lẹ mọ.
So he recited: "Indeed, some suspicion is sin."
Nítorí náà ó ka: "Nítòótọ́, àpakan abá dídá jẹ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀."
Then he said: O narrators of poetry,
Lẹ́yìn náà ó sọ: Ẹ̀yin olùsọ ewì,
and healers of sick speech,
àti olùwòsàn ọ̀rọ̀ aláìsàn,
The essence of the jewel appears through melting,
Pàtàkì alumonu iyebíye máa ń hàn nípasẹ̀ yíyọ̀,
and the hand of truth rends the cloak of doubt.
ọwọ́ òtítọ́ sì máa ń fa aṣọ iyèméjì ya.
It has been said in times past:
A ti sọ ní àwọn àkókò tí ó ti kọjá:
At the time of trial,
Ní àkókò ìdánwò,
a man is honored or disgraced.
a máa ń bọ̀wọ̀ fún ènìyàn tàbí a dójútì í.
And here I am, I have presented my hidden treasure for testing,
Àti pé èmi nìyí, mo ti mú ìṣúra mi jáde fún àyẹ̀wò,
