Al-Harith bin Hammam narrated, saying
Hárìsù ọmọ Hammam sọ̀rọ̀, ó wí pé
I resolved to depart from Barqa'id
Mo pinnu láti kúrò ní Barka'id
And I had glimpsed the lightning of a festival
Mo sì ti rí mọ̀nàmọ́ná àjọ̀dún kan
So I disliked departing from that city
Nítorí náà, mo kò láti kúrò ní ìlú náà
Until I witness there the day of adornment
Títí má fi rìí ọjọ́ ọ̀ṣọ́ níbẹ̀
When it approached with its obligatory and voluntary [rituals]
Nígbà tí ó súnmọ́ pẹ̀lú àwọn ìṣe dandan àti àtinúwá rẹ̀
And it advanced with its cavalry and infantry
Tí ó sì ń tẹ̀síwájú pẹ̀lú àwọn ológun ẹlẹ́ṣin àti ẹlẹ́sẹ̀ rẹ̀
I followed the tradition in wearing new clothes
Mo tẹ̀lé àṣà ní wíwọ aṣọ tuntun
And I went out with those who went out for the festival
Mo sì jáde pẹ̀lú àwọn tí ó jáde fún àjọ̀dún náà
And when the congregation of the prayer ground gathered and organized
Nígbà tí àwùjọ ibi àdúrà kójọpọ̀ tí wọ́n sì fara balẹ
