Al-Harith ibn Hammam narrated, saying:
Harisu ọmọ Hammam sọ pé:
I lived in the district of Al-Rabi' during the spring.
Mo gbé ní agbègbè Al-Rabi' nígbà oríṣiríṣi.
With young men whose faces were brighter than its lights.
Pẹ̀lú àwọn ọ̀dọ́kùnrin tí ojú wọn mọ́ ju ìmọ́lẹ̀ rẹ̀ lọ.
And their manners more delightful than its flowers.
Àti ìwà wọn tó dùn jù àwọn òdòdó rẹ̀ lọ.
And their words gentler than its morning breeze.
Àti ọ̀rọ̀ wọn tó rọ ju afẹ́fẹ́ owurọ̀ rẹ̀ lọ.
I found in them what surpasses the blooming spring.
Mo rí nínú wọn ohun tó ju oríṣiríṣi tó ń yọ lọ.
And suffices for the melodies of the flowers.
Àti tó tó fún àwọn orin àwọn odò.
We agreed to maintain friendship.

And to prohibit tyranny.
Àti láti dènà ìṣàkóso.
