الْمَقَامَةُ الْقطيعية

Nor will I go comfortably to wine.

Ati pé èmi kì yóò lọ pẹ̀lú ìtẹ́lọ́rùn sí ìdí wáìnì.

Nor will I ever set my whole attention on a North compressed wind.

Èmi kì yóò ko gbogbo àrà mí sórí ẹ̀fúùfù Àríwá kan láíláí.

Nor will I choose a companion other than the sober.

Ati pé èmi kì yóò yàn ẹlẹ́gbẹ́ mìíràn ayafi ẹni tí Ó taji ti kò mú.

Ìgbà àgbà ti pa ayọ̀ mi rẹ̀ nígbà tí ó fi àmì sí orí mi.

Lọ́ sí ibi ìdárayá, nítorí náà, ègbé ni fún ẹni tí ó farahàn tí Ó sì tún bú ní.

Àti pé bí mo bá ti ń ṣe ìdárayá nígbà tí irun mi ti di funfun.

Fítílà mi yóò ti rọ̀ ní àárín àwọn fítílà Gasani.
