الْمَقَامَةُ السَّاوِيَّةُ

Until the wood of the coffin bent

Títí àwọn igi pósí fi tẹ

And the bones become dust.

Àwọn egungun náà di eruku.

And thereafter, it is certain.

Ìgbà náà, kò sí ibuyẹsi

Láti se ìwádìí nípa ẹmi, tí won ba ti pálẹmọ

The Sirat whose bridge is extended.

Òkè Asirati, ti ọ̀nà rẹ gùn gan-an

Over the fire for those who come.

Lórí iná fún àwọn tó wá.

How many guides have strayed.

Ọpọ ẹlẹ́kọ̀, ní wọn tí ṣègbé!

And most of the mighties has been humbled.

Ọpọ ọlọlá ní wọn ti yẹpẹrẹ

And how many scholars have slipped.

Ọpọ ọ̀nìmọ́ ni ó ti ṣe aṣisẹ̀.

And said: the calamity has overtaken.
