Al-Harith ibn Hammam said: When we saw the cub resembling the lion, we sent off the father and provided for the son.
Hárìsù ọmọ Hammam sọ pé: Nígbà tí a rí ọmọkùnrin tó dàbí kìnnìún, a rán bàbá lọwọ àti pé a fún ọmọ ní ohun èlò.
They met the kindness with gratitude, spreading its cloaks.
Wọ́n pàdé iṣẹ́ náà pẹ̀lú ìdúpẹ́, tí wọ́n ń tàn aṣọ rẹ̀ káàkiri.
And they paid its dues with it.
Wọ́n sì san ẹ̀san rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú rẹ̀.
And when they decided to depart.
Nígbà tí wọ́n pinnu láti lọ.
And they tied the belt for the journey.
Wọ́n sì dì àmùrè fún ìrìnàjò náà.
I said to the elder: Has our promise matched that of Urqub?
Mo sọ fún àgbàlagbà náà pé: Ṣé àdéhùn wa ti dà bí ti Urkub?
Or is there still a need in the soul of Jacob?
Tabi ṣé àìní kan ṣi wà nínú ọkàn Jakọbu?
He said: God forbid, never.
Ó sọ pé: Ọlọ́run má jẹ́, rárá.
Rather, your kindness is great and clear.
Ẹbun rere yín tóbi o sì hàn kedere.
So I said to him: We have repaid you as you have repaid us.
Nítorí náà, mo sọ fún un pé: A ti san ẹ̀san fún ọ bí o ti san fún wa.
