الْمَقَامَةُ الْمَرَاغِيَّةُ

English: I headed towards him from my corners

Yoruba: Mo kọjú sí i láti ibi tí mo wà

English: With my hope

Yoruba: Pẹ̀lú ìrètí mi

English: And I called him to restore my beauty and quench my thirst

Yoruba: Mo sì pè é láti dá ẹwà mi padà àti láti pa òùngbẹ mi

English: He was cheerful for the delegation and went

Yoruba: Ó yọ̀ fún àbẹ̀wò náà, ó sì lọ

English: And he came with benefit and comfort

Yoruba: Ó sì padà wá pẹ̀lú àǹfààní àti ìtújúká

English: When I asked his permission to depart

Yoruba: Nígbà tí mo béèrè ààyè láti lọ

English: To the resting place

Yoruba: Sí ibi ìsinmi

English: On the shoulder of joy

Yoruba: Lórí èjìká ayọ̀

English: He said: I have resolved not to provide you at all

Yoruba: Ó sọ pé: Mo ti pinnu láti má pèsè fún ọ rárá

English: And not to gather for you what is scattered

Yoruba: Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni n kò ní kójọ ohun tó fọ́n káàkiri fún ọ
