الْمَقَامَةُ الرَّحْبِيَّةُ

عَرَبِيَّة : يَدَّعِي أَنَّهُ فَتَكَ بِابْنِهِ.

English: Claiming that he had killed his son.

Yoruba: Ó ń sọ pé òun pa ọmọ òun.

عَرَبِيَّة : وَالْغُلَامُ يُنْكِرُ عِرْفَتَهُ.

English: And the youth was denying knowing him.

Yoruba: Ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin náà sì ń sọ pé òun kò mọ̀ ọ́n.

عَرَبِيَّة : وَيُكْبِرُ قِرْفَتَهُ.

English: And magnifying his accusation.

Yoruba: Ó sì ń gbé ẹ̀sùn rẹ̀ ga.

عَرَبِيَّة : وَالْخِصَامُ بَيْنَهُمَا مُتَطَايِرُ الشَّرَارِ.

English: And the dispute between them was throwing off sparks.

Yoruba: Àríyànjiyàn láàrín wọn sì ń ta iná.

عَرَبِيَّة : وَالزِّحَامُ عَلَيْهِمَا يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْأَخْيَارِ وَالْأَشْرَارِ.

English: And the crowd around them gathered both the good and the evil.

Yoruba: Ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn tí ó yí wọn ká sì kó àwọn ènìyàn rere àti àwọn ènìyàn búburú jọ.

عَرَبِيَّة : إِلَى أَنْ تَرَاضَيَا بَعْدَ اشْتِطَاطِ اللَّدَدِ.

English: Until they agreed, after excessive quarreling.

Yoruba: Títí tí wọ́n fi fara mọ́ ara wọn, lẹ́yìn ìjà púpọ̀.

عَرَبِيَّة : بِالتَّنَافُرِ إِلَى وَالِي الْبَلَدِ.

English: To take their dispute to the governor of the town.

Yoruba: Láti mú ọ̀rọ̀ wọn lọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ gómìnà ìlú náà.

عَرَبِيَّة : وَكَانَ مِمَّنْ يُزنُّ بِالْهَنَاتِ.

English: And he was among those accused of disgusting behaviors.

Yoruba: Ó sì jẹ́ ẹnìkan nínú àwọn tí wọ́n tí fi ẹ̀sùn kàn nípa ìwà ìdọ̀tí,

عَرَبِيَّة : وَيُغَلِّبُ حُبَّ الْبَنِينَ عَلَى الْبَنَاتِ.

English: And preferred love for sons over daughters.

Yoruba: Ó sì máa ń fi ìfẹ́ fún àwọn ọmọkùnrin ju ti àwọn ọmọbìnrin lọ.

عَرَبِيَّة : فَأَسْرَعَا إِلَى نَدْوَتِهِ.

English: So they hastened to his assembly.

Yoruba: Nítorí náà, wọ́n yára lọ sí ìpàdé rẹ̀.
