الْمَقَامَةُ الرَّحْبِيَّةُ

Yoruba: Arúgbó náà sọ pé: Nítòótọ́, ó pa á ní ìkọ̀kọ̀.

English: And spilled his blood in solitude.

Yoruba: Ó sì ta ẹ̀jẹ̀ rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ ní ìdákọ́.

English: So how can I have a witness?

Yoruba: Báwo ni mo ṣe lè ní ẹlẹ́rìí?

English: And there was no observer there?

Yoruba: Kò sì sí olùwòran níbẹ̀?

English: But allow me to dictate the oath to him.

Yoruba: Ṣùgbọ́n jẹ́ kí n sọ ìbúra náà fún un.

English: So it becomes clear to you whether he speaks the truth or swears falsely?

Yoruba: Kí ó lè han sí ọ́ bóyá òtítọ́ ni ó ń sọ tàbí ó ń búra èké?

English: He said to him: You have the right to that.

Yoruba: Ó sọ fún un pé: O ní ẹ̀tọ́ sí iyẹn.

English: With your overwhelming grief.

Yoruba: Pẹ̀lú ìbànújẹ́ rẹ tó pọ̀ jọjọ.
