Then he began to say: Adhere to truthfulness even if it burns you with the fire of warning.
Lẹ́yìn náà, ó bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí sọ pé: Mú òtítọ́ mọ́ra, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé òtítọ́ máa jó ọ́ pẹ̀lú iná ìkìlọ̀.
And seek the pleasure of God, for the most foolish of people is the one who angers the Master and pleases the servants.
Àti pé wá ìyọ̀nú Ọlọ́run, nítorí ẹni tó gọ̀ jù lọ láàrín àwọn ènìyàn ni ẹni tó bínú Olúwa, tó wá ń yọ àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ nínú.
Then he bid farewell to his companions.
Lẹ́yìn náà, ó sọ pé o dabọ̀ fún àwọn ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ̀.
And he departed, dragging his robes.
Ó sì lọ, tí ó ń fà aṣọ rẹ̀.
We sought him later in Rayy.
A wá a nígbà tí ó lọ ní Rayu.
And we inquired about his news from the paths of the wind.
Àti pé a béèrè nípa ìròyìn rẹ̀ láti ọ̀nà afẹ́fẹ́.
None of us knew his whereabouts.
Kò sí ẹnikẹ́ni láàrín wa tó mọ ibi tí ó wà.
Nor did anyone know which locust had taken him.
Àti pé kò sí ẹnikẹ́ni tó mọ èyí tí ó mú un lọ láàrín àwọn Tátá.
