الْمَقَامَةُ الرَّازِيَّةُ

You are pleased with the abundance you have.

O máa ń yọ̀ fún òpòlọpò ohun tí o ní.

And you do not remember what is before you.

Ati pe o kò rántí ohun tí ó wà níwájú rẹ.

You always strive for your belly and private part.

O máa ń ṣìṣè fún ohun ìnú ati àbẹ́ rẹ́.

And you do not care whether it is for you or against you.

Ati pe o kò bìkítà bóyá ó dára fún ẹ tàbí kò dára.

Do you think you will be left aimlessly?

Ṣé o rò pé wọn yóò fi ọ̀ sílẹ̀ láìní ìdí?

And that you will not be held accountable tomorrow?

Ati pé wọn kò ní ṣe ìdájọ́ rẹ ní ọ̀la?

Or do you think death accepts bribes?

Ṣé o rò pé ikú máa ń gba àbẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀?

Or distinguishes between the lion and the deer?

Ṣé o rò pé ikú máa ń ṣe iyàtọ̀ laarin ẹkùn àti ẹran?

No, by God, neither wealth nor sons can avert death.

Rárá, láéláé, kò sí owó tàbí ọmọ tó lè dá ikú dúró.

Nothing benefits the people of the graves except righteous deeds!

Kò sí ohun tó máa ń ran àwọn tó wà nínú ibojì lọ́wọ́ bí kò ṣe iṣẹ́ rere!
