Chapter 21

الْمَقَامَةُ الرَّازِيَّةُ

21

وَاخْتِبَارِ الوَاعِظِ.


English

And to test the preacher.

Àti láti dá olùkìlọ̀ wò.

22

أَنْ أُقَاسِيَ اللَّاغِطَ.


English

To endure the noise.

Yoruba

Láti fara dà áwàdà.

23

وَأَحْتَمِلَ الضَّاغِطَ.


English

And bear the pressure.

Àti láti fara dà ìkànsí.

24

فَأَصْبَحْتُ إِصْحَابَ المِطْوَاعَةِ.


English

So I became a companion of obedience.

Nítorí náà, mo di ẹlẹgbẹ́ ìgbọ́ràn.

25

وَانْخَرَطْتُ فِي سِلْكِ الجَمَاعَةِ.


English

And I joined the group.

Yoruba

Mo sì darapọ̀ mọ́ ẹgbẹ́ náà.

26

حَتَّى أَفْضَيْنَا إِلَى نَادٍ حَشَدَ النَّبِيهَ وَالمَغْمُورَ.


English

Until we reached a gathering that included the notable and the obscure.

Títí tí a fi dé ìpàdé tí ó ní àwọn oni mimọ̀ àti àwọn olugbabgerá.

27

وَفِي وَسَطِ هَالَتِهِ.


English

And in the midst of its aura.

Yoruba

Ní àárín àwòsanma rẹ̀.

28

وَوَسَطِ أَهِلَّتِهِ.


English

And in the midst of its people.

Yoruba

Ní àárín àwọn èèyàn rẹ̀.

29

شَيْخٌ قَدْ تَقَوَّسَ وَاقْعَنْسَسَ.


English

An old man who had become bent and stooped.

Yoruba

Àgbàlagbà kan tí ó ti tẹ̀, tí ẹ̀yín rẹ̀ naa tí tẹ̀.

30

وَتَقَلْنَسَ وَتَطَلَّسَ.


English

And had worn a turban and a cloak.

Yoruba

Ó sì wọ́ ìbòrí àti aṣọ ìbora.
