الْمَقَامَةُ السَّمَرْقَنْدِيَّةُ

And safety is achieved.

Àti bí ààbò bá ti wà.

Otherwise, he is overwhelmed by unfulfilled desires.

Bí bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́, ìbànújẹ́ àìrí un tó fẹ́ yóò gbé e mì.

And restricted speech.

Àti ìdínkù ọ̀rọ̀.

And the presence of pains.

Àti ìwàláàyè ìrora.

And the approach of death.

Àti ìsun mọ ikú.

And the stillness of senses.

Àti ìdákẹ́jẹ́ àwọn ìfúra mọ̀.

And the rehabilitation of the graves.

Àti àtúnṣe àwọn ibojì.

Oh, the regret whose pain is certain.

Ah, ìbànújẹ́ tí ìrora rẹ̀ dájú.

And its duration is eternal.

Àti ìgbà rẹ̀ jẹ́ àìnípẹ̀kun.

And its practitioner is sorrowful!

Àti ẹni tí ó ń ṣe é jẹ́ aláìyọ̀!
