الْمَقَامَةُ السَّمَرْقَنْدِيَّةُ

Then I hastened humbly to its grand mosque.

Lẹ́yìn náà, mo yara lọ sí mósálásí ńlá rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ìrẹ̀lẹ̀.

Láti darapọ̀ mọ́ àwọn tó sún mọ́ Imam àti àwọn tó dára jùlọ nínú àwùjọ.

Mo ní oríire láti rí ààyè kan ní àárín àti yàn ibi láti gbọ́ ìwàásù.

People continued to enter the religion of Allah in groups, coming individually and in pairs.

Àwọn ènìyàn ń tẹ̀ sí ìgbàgbọ́ Ọlọ́run ní ẹgbẹ́ẹgbẹ́, wọ́n ń wọ̀le lọ́kọ̀ọ̀kan àti ní méjì-méjì.

Until the mosque was filled with its gathering, and the person and their shadow became equal.

Títí tí mósálásí náà fi kún fún àwọn ìjoko rẹ̀, tí ènìyàn àti ojiji wọn sì di dọ́gba.

The preacher appeared in his attire, gracefully following his group.

Oni wàásù náà farahàn nínú aṣọ rẹ̀, ní ìrẹ̀lẹ̀ tí ó ń tẹ̀lé ẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀.

He ascended the pulpit of the call until he reached the peak.

Ó gòkè pèpéle ìpè náà títí tí ó fi dé orí rẹ̀.

He greeted with a gesture of the right hand, then sat until the call to prayer was completed.

Ó ṣe kíkí pẹ̀lú ìfihàn ọwọ́ ọ̀tún, lẹ́yìn náà ó jókòó títí tí ìpè sí àdúrà (irun kiki) fi parí.

Then he stood and said: Praise be to Allah, praised in names, thanked for blessings, vast in giving, called upon to end hardships.

Lẹ́yìn náà, ó dìde ó sì sọ pé: Ìyìn ni fún Ọlọ́run, ẹni tí a ń yìn nínú àwọn orúkọ, ẹni tí a ń dúpẹ́ fún àwọn ìbùkún, ẹni tí ó pín fún gbogbo ènìyàn, ẹni tí a ń pè láti parí ìṣòro.

Owner of nations, shaper of remains, source of generosity and kindness, destroyer of 'Ad and Iram.

Olùní àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè, alatundá àwọn eégún, orísun ìfẹ́ àti ìwà rere, ẹni tí ó pa 'Adu àti Iramu run.
