الْمَقَامَةُ السَّمَرْقَنْدِيَّةُ

Be patient with the character of those you live with, and be diplomatic, for the wise is the one who is diplomatic.

Ṣe sùúrù pẹ̀lú ìwà àwọn tí o ń gbé pẹ̀lú wọn, kí o sì ṣe ìṣètò, nítorí ẹni ọgbọ́n ni ẹni tí ó ṣe ìṣètò.

Do not waste the opportunity for joy, for you do not know whether you will live another day or not.

Má ṣe ṣòfò àyè ayọ̀, nítorí o kò mọ̀ bí o máa yè ọjọ́ mìíràn tàbí kìí ṣe.

And know that death is a wanderer, and it has circled around the world.

Máa mọ̀ pé ikú jẹ́ arìnrìn-àjò, ó sì ti yí ayé ká.

And it has sworn to continue hunting as long as life and time persist.

Ó sì ti búra láti máa tẹ̀ lé bí ìgbésí ayé àti àkókò ṣe ń tẹ̀síwájú.

So how can you hope to escape a trap from which neither Khosrow nor Dara escaped?

Nítorí náà, báwo ni o ṣe lè retí láti sá kúrò nínú àwòko tí Khosrow tàbí Dara kò sá kúrò nínú rẹ?
