English: Who dragged the tail of oblivion over Sahban.
Yoruba: Tí wọ́n fà ìrù ìgbàgbé lórí Sahaban.
English: Among them was none but who that can be gained from and not guard against
Yoruba: Kò sí ẹnìkan nínú wọn àyàfi ẹni tí wọ́n yóò ri àǹfààní rẹ tí kí ṣe ẹni a ṣọ́ra fún.
English: And companion do incline towards him and not turn away from.
Yoruba: Ẹni ọrẹ a má fẹ́ràn níwọ̀n tí kì ṣe ẹnì a sáà fún
English: We were captivated by the night talk until the moon set.
Yoruba: A ní inú dídùn sí ìsọ̀rọ̀ alẹ́ títí tí òṣùpá fi wọ̀.
English: And sleeplessness prevailed.
Yoruba: Àìsùn sì borí wa.
English: When the dark night cleared, and only drowsiness remained.
Yoruba: Nígbà tí òru dúdú mọ́, tí kò sí ohun tó kù bí kò ṣe oorun.
English: We heard from the door the bark of one seeking, then followed by the knock of one requesting entry.
