الْمَقَامَةُ الْمَرَاغِيَّةُ

English: For a hope that disappointed

English: And an enemy that grew canine teeth

English: And calmness that disappeared

English: His love did not deviate so he would become angry

Yoruba: Ìfẹ́ rẹ̀ kò yí padà kí ó lè bínú

English: His nature did not become evil so he would be cut off

Yoruba: Ìwà rẹ̀ kò burú tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí a ó gé e kúrò

English: His chest did not spit so he would be shaken off

Yoruba: Àyà rẹ̀ kò tu itọ́ tí a ó gbọ̀n ọ́n

English: His connection did not become discordant so he would be hated

Yoruba: Ìbáṣepọ̀ rẹ̀ kò di aláìṣe déédé tí a ó kórìíra rẹ̀

English: Your generosity does not require the rejection of his sanctity
