الْمَقَامَةُ الْمَرَاغِيَّةُ

For a hope that disappointed

Fún ìrètí tí ó ba ènìyàn nínú jẹ́

And neglect that caused gray hair

Àti àìkàsí tí ó mú irun funfun yọ

And an enemy that grew canine teeth

Àti ọ̀tá tí ó ní eyín èranko

And calmness that disappeared

Àti ìdákẹ́ tí ó parẹ́

His love did not deviate so he would become angry

Ìfẹ́ rẹ̀ kò yí padà kí ó lè bínú

His nature did not become evil so he would be cut off

Ìwà rẹ̀ kò burú tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí a ó gé e kúrò

His chest did not spit so he would be shaken off

Àyà rẹ̀ kò tu itọ́ tí a ó gbọ̀n ọ́n

His connection did not become discordant so he would be hated

Ìbáṣepọ̀ rẹ̀ kò di aláìṣe déédé tí a ó kórìíra rẹ̀

Your generosity does not require the rejection of his sanctity

Ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ kò nílò kí a kọ iyì rẹ̀ sílẹ̀

So whiten his hope by lightening his pain
