الْمَقَامَةُ الدِّمَشْقِيَّةُ

And it became clear to him that we doubted the news and felt weakness.

Tí ó sì hàn sí pé àwa tí fojú kéré ìròyìn náà, à sì fura sí lílẹ ìṣọ náà

He said: "Why do you treat my seriousness as a joke?"

Ó sọ pé: "Kí ló dé tí ẹ fi ń mú nkan pàtàkì mí ní àwàdànu?"

"And why do you consider my purity gold as impurity?"

"Àti pé ẹ tún pé wúrà mí ní ìdọ̀tí

"By Allah, I have often crossed the fears of the lands."

"Pẹ̀lú Olúwa, Mo ti kọjá nínú àwọn ìlú ewú.".

"And I have entered the most dangerous places."

"Mo ti wọ àwọn ibi tó léwu julọ.".

"And I have managed it without the need for a guide or quiver."

"Pẹ̀lú rẹ, mo rọrọ kúrò lọ́wọ́ iranlọwọ àtọna tàbí àpò ọfà.".

"Then I will dispel your doubts and ease the caution that has befallen you."

"Nígbà náà, Máa kọ fún yín ohun tó mú iyèméjì bá yín, má sì gbé ìbẹ̀rù yín kúrò.".

"By agreeing with you in the desert and accompanying you in the river of Samaweh."

"Nípa fífọwọ́sí pẹ̀lú yín nínu aginjù yíì àti ti tẹ̀lé yin níbí òdò Samawa.".

"If my promise to you is true, then bring forth my success and assist my seriousness."

"Tí àdéhùn mí bá jẹ́ òtítọ́ fún yín, nítorí náà kí ẹ yàrá mu ẹbun mí náà wá, ki ẹ si rán mi lọwọ lórí pàtàkìmí.".

"And if I deceive you, then tear my flesh and spill my blood."

"Ṣùgbọ́n tí ẹnu mí bá purọ́ fún yín, nípa báyìí; ẹ fá ara mi yá, kí ẹ sì tá ẹ̀jẹ̀ mí sílẹ̀,
