الْمَقَامَةُ الدِّمَشْقِيَّةُ

And grant me from Your presence a supportive authority.

fún mi láti ọdọ rẹ̀, agbára àrànṣe

O Allah, guard me with Your eye, and Your help, and grant me Your security and favor.

Ọlọ́run, ẹ máa ṣọ́ mi pẹ̀lú ojú rẹ̀, àti pẹ̀lú ìrànwọ́ rẹ̀, àti ẹ jẹ́ kí n gbádùn ààbò rẹ̀ àti ìfẹ́ rẹ.

And take charge of me with Your choice and goodness.

Ẹ máa ṣàbójútó mi pẹ̀lú ẹṣa rẹ àti pẹ̀lú ànfààní rẹ.

And do not leave me to the care of anyone other than You.

Ẹ má ṣe fi mi sí ìtọju àwọn mìíràn ju iwọ lọ.

And grant me a well-being that does not fade, and provide me with prosperity that is not weak.

Ẹ fún mi ní àláàfíà tí kò ní rẹ̀wẹ̀sì, àti fún mi ní àṣeyọrí tí kò ní ṣe àìsàn

Protect me from the hardships of adversity, and shelter me with the covers of Your blessings.

Ẹ bójú tó mi kúrò ní ìnira àwọn ìṣẹ́lẹ̀ tí kò dáa, kí ẹ sì pẹ̀lú ìfẹ́ yín bọ mí mọ́lẹ̀ nínú àwọn ànfààní yín.

And do not let the claws of enemies reach me. Truly, You are the Hearer of prayers.

Ẹ má jẹ́ kí ọwọ́ ọ̀tá mi kàn mí, Nítorí ní òótọ́, Iwọ ni Eleti tìgbọ àwọn adúà.

Then he bowed his head, not turning his gaze, nor uttering a word.

Lẹ́yìn náà, ó tẹríba, kò yi ójú rẹ̀, kò sì sọ ọ̀rọ̀ kankan.

Until we said: "He has been struck silent by fear, or overwhelmed by a trance."

Títí di bí àwa ṣe sọ pé: “ìbẹ̀rù mu láti sọrọ tàbí dídá kú kọ fún láti fọhun”

Then he raised his head and took a deep breath.

Lẹ́yìn náà, ó gbé orí rẹ̀ sókè, ó sì mí ẹmí kan tí ó jinlẹ̀.
